Tools Needed

  • Flat Screwdriver
  • T10 Torx security bit
  • T20 Torx security bit

Disassemble the Vacuum Head

We’ll remove the vacuum head cover to access the brush roller mechanism and diagnose the problem.

  1. Remove the top cover by releasing four small clips.
  2. Using a T10 Torx security bit, remove the two screws on the top of the head.
  3. Flip the head over to access the bottom.
Remove the top cover by releasing four small clips.
  1. Using a T20 Torx security bit, remove the nine screws on the bottom of the head (if a screw is stuck, use a small flat screwdriver to help).
  2. Pop off any covers and check for additional hidden screws underneath.
  3. Remove any additional screws found (locations vary by model).
  4. Slide off the bottom cover and set it aside.
