Oreck Elevate/Command/Conquer No Suction Troubleshooting

First, we'll check the most common clog location at the base inlet where debris enters the vacuum.

1. Unplug the vacuum and flip it over so the bottom is facing up.
2. Locate the inlet opening on the base where debris flows into the machine.
3. Look into the inlet opening to check if you can see an obvious clog blocking the passage.

We'll remove the base plate to access and clear the clog, then test if suction is restored.

1. Using a T20 Torx bit, remove all seven screws from the base plate.
2. Lift off the base plate to expose the inlet area.
3. Remove any visible debris, buildup, or clogs from the inlet passage.
4. Check the fan housing for cracks or hair sticking out, which indicates air leakage.

5. Reinstall the base plate and secure with all seven screws.
6. Plug in the vacuum and test suction on a small area.

The clog may be in the tube assembly, which commonly happens when the bag is overfilled and debris backs up into the tube.

1. Locate the silver tube that runs from the base to the bag compartment.
2. Pull firmly to separate the lower tube section from the base – it will be tight.
3. Disconnect the upper portion of the tube near the bag compartment.
4. Remove the entire tube assembly.

5. Look through the tube to check for clogs, especially at the sharp turn where the tube bends.
6. Clear any clogs found in the tube using your fingers or a long object.
7. Reconnect the tube assembly at both ends, ensuring tight connections.
8. Plug in the vacuum and test suction on a small area.
