Plus, by looking at the features that these two vacuums share, we can see any potential overlaps or complementary qualities that may influence our decision-making process when it comes to selecting the best vacuum cleaner for our specific needs and preferences. With that in mind, here is what you get with both the Sebo X7 and the Sebo X4 Boost:

  • Automatic Brush Roll Height Adjustment – This is the key feature that sets these vacuums apart from the competition. In our experience, 90% of people do not set the height on their vacuum cleaners to the proper height setting. This can lead to extra wear and tear on the machine if set too low, or to inefficient or even non-existent cleaning of your carpets and floors. Automatic height adjustment will ensure that you are always cleaning your floors properly, every single time.
  • Easy Brush Roll Removal – Both the Sebo X7 and the X4 have an easy to remove brush roll that does not require tools. Simply push a button and the brush pops right out. This is another awesome feature, especially for pet owners or people with longer hair.
  • Integrated Wand and Hose – Both of these vacuum cleaners have a hose and wand that easily pull off of the machine, making it super simple for above the floor cleaning.
  • Indicator Lights – The Sebo X7 and the X4 both have a range of indicator lights that let you know what is going on with the vacuum. These lights include a full bag indicator that lets you know when it is time to change the bag, and brush obstruction light that tells you when something is caught in the brush chamber, and brush roll up / down lights that let you know when the machine is adjusting the brush height to give you the best clean possible.

Differences Between the Sebo X4 vs X7

Now that you know what both of the machines have in common, we can break down the features and performance differences that make each machine unique. When comparing the Sebo X7 vs X4, you will find both a functional performance difference as well as a feature set difference.

Carpet Pile Height and Profile – To start, the Sebo X4 Boost is one of Sebo’s older designs. This means that it is based on a commercial vacuum cleaner that is designed for very short pile carpet. The X4, however, has a slightly lower profile than its big brother, which means that it can fit under some furniture easier than the X7.

Filtration Differences – The Sebo Automatic X7 has one additional filter on the back of the machine that is not on the X4 Boost. Both vacuums do still meet the S-Class Filtration requirements. On top of this, the Sebo Automatic X7 has an included charcoal filter that helps to eliminate odors from the machine. The X4 Boost does not come standard with this charcoal filter, but you can upgrade if you would like.

Headlights – The Sebo X7 does include a headlight that makes it much easier to clean those dimly lit corners. The X4 does not have an included headlight.

Performance and Functionality – The Sebo Automatic X7 is much better for cleaning thicker, high pile carpets than the X4. If you have thicker pile carpet in your home, you will certainly notice that the X4 is much harder to push when compared to the X7. The Sebo Automatic X7 is also more intelligent with its automatic height adjustment. We notice that the X4 tends to adjust much more often when compared to the X7, when means more wear and tear on the brush and base assembly. Most notably, the Sebo Automatic X7 cleans bare flooring (hardwood, tile, etc) much better than the X4. The Sebo X4 Boost has a tendency to kick a lot more stuff around, which can be a big hassle over time. Both vacuum cleaners also use Sebo vacuum bags.

Sebo Automatic X7 Pet

If you have lots of bare flooring, pets, or thicker carpet. This is the machine that we recommend, as it will be a worthwhile investment that will perform better in this flooring environment.

Sebo Automatic X4 Boost

If you don’t have thicker carpets or a ton of bare surfaces, choosing the X4 Boost would be a good choice. This vacuum cleaner is also what we recommend to commercial customers.
