Meet Michelle

Michelle

Michelle is a maker of things – clothes, shoes, bags, sweaters, books, bread, and trouble.  Her sewing career started in 9th grade when she had to make pillows of her initials in Home Ec class and she could not help herself but to hack the pattern. It’s been quilts, clothes, and a lot of Halloween costumes since then and she is still obsessed. When not wearing the clothes she sews or teaching sewing to create passion and community, she is an activist, writer, and a consultant on the uses of story as a trauma aware technology for change. Michelle holds a Ph.D. in Theology and all sorts of other non-sewing credentials.
