Embroidery Features of the Janome Continental M17

The Janome Continental M17 is an extremely powerful combination sewing, quilting, and embroidery machine. Let’s take a look at some of the embroidery-focused features!

Built-In Embroidery

The CM17 comes with 1,230 embroidery designs built into the machine when you open it! The stitches include their Designer Collections, ten different embroidery fonts, and some In-the-Hoop projects to introduce you to the machine. With the included Embroidery Link app, you can customize and edit your designs, including the ones built into the machine! You can add, remove, and personalize the elements to create one-of-a-kind projects for yourself and your loved ones.

Extra-Large Embroidery Area

The Continental M17 has the largest embroidery area and hoop of any Janome machine yet! The RE46d Hoop offers 11.3″ x 18.2″ of embroidery space. The hoop is made with carbon fiber infused plastic, which makes it 10x stronger than metal. Even when stitching 1,200 stitches per minute, the CM17 will remain stable and precise. The embroidery machine will automatically recognize the four included hoops, and the bonus Quilt Kit includes the AcuFil hoop, which is an amazing tool for quilting in the hoop.

Embroidery Positioning Marker

The new embroidery foot from Janome now has an LED Marker! The small red dot illuminates where your needle is positioned to fall on your embroidery design so that you can determine precisely where your needle will strike before piercing your fabric. This is perfect for embroidery designs that need to be placed exactly right. Use the laser along with the baste function to guarantee that your design lands exactly where you would like it!

Easy Tightening Lever for Embroidery Hoops

If you find that turning the small screws on your embroidery hoops is hard, or that it always feels like you need a third hand to get all your layers of material hooped up, you will love the Easy Tightening Lever on the Continental M17 hoops! Set your fabric and stabilizer into the hoop, and then flip the lever to lock everything into place! Much easier for mobility.
