This model was another upright vacuum cleaner designed specifically for the US market. It served as the successor to the DC17 model. Equipped with a powered cam mechanism, known as the 'Dyson Airmuscle', it allows for easy adjustment of the brushbar height. This feature is controlled via a set of buttons located near the main power switch, situated above the cyclone assembly. Additionally, the vacuum incorporates a pneumatic actuator to ensure the cleaning head maintains contact with the floor, as well as a high-torque clutch mechanism that provides extra power to the brushbar for enhanced cleaning performance.
