Windsor began in 1971 and built its reputation on heavy-duty commercial floor care equipment — vacuums, extractors, scrubbers, and burnishers — under the Castle Rock Industries umbrella. The Sensor upright became a standard fixture in hotel and contract cleaning fleets across North America, known for HEPA-grade filtration and a robust, serviceable design.
Windsor was acquired by German cleaning equipment maker Kärcher in 2004, becoming the Windsor Kärcher Group in 2015, and beginning in 2020 started transitioning its products under the Kärcher brand. The Sensor series uprights, Versamatic widebands, and Radius commercial canisters are still in widespread service, and replacement parts — filters, brush rolls, belts, motors, and bag systems — remain available across the long install base.
