Shop-Vac is the wet/dry vacuum brand founded in 1953 in Williamsport, Pennsylvania by Frank Bertorelli, who built the first multi-purpose wet/dry shop vacuum and gave the entire product category its colloquial name. For decades Shop-Vac was the dominant maker of utility vacuums for garages, workshops, basements, and contractors.
After bankruptcy and reorganization in 2020 the Shop-Vac brand was acquired by GreatStar Industrial USA and continues to produce a wide range of wet/dry tank vacuums, from compact 1-gallon portables up to 16-gallon contractor units, plus accessories, hoses, drum-mount kits, and replacement filter cartridges, foam sleeves, and collection bags fitting the full long history of Shop-Vac models.
