Kärcher is a German cleaning equipment manufacturer founded in 1935 by Alfred Kärcher in Bad Cannstatt and now headquartered in Winnenden, Germany. The company is best known for inventing the modern hot-water high-pressure washer in 1950 and going on to dominate the global pressure washer market — but the Kärcher line also includes commercial vacuum cleaners, sweepers, scrubber-driers, steam cleaners, and consumer wet/dry shop vacs.
Kärcher acquired the U.S. commercial brand Windsor in 2004 and the two product lines are gradually consolidating under the Kärcher name. The vacuum lineup spans the WD wet/dry series, the BV and T-series commercial backpacks and dry vacs, and a range of compact uprights — all supported by a parts and accessory aftermarket of filters, bags, hoses, brush rolls, and pressure-washer wands and nozzles.
