Fuller Brush was founded in 1906 by Alfred C. Fuller, a young Nova Scotian who started making twisted-wire brushes in his sister's basement in Somerville, Massachusetts. The "Fuller Brush Man" — a door-to-door sales force selling household brushes, brooms, and cleaning supplies — became one of the most recognizable figures in 20th-century American retailing, and the brand's bristle-and-broom catalog is still in continuous production.
Fuller Brush expanded into vacuum cleaners decades ago, and its current lineup includes uprights, canisters, stick vacs, handhelds, and a strong commercial range — many built in the United States. The Tidy Maid, Mighty Maid, Speedy Maid, and Quick Maid series support a long parts catalog of bags, belts, brush rolls, and filters that remain available for service.
