Pick out a Front and Back pattern piece in your Main fabric
Pick out a Front and Back pattern piece in your Lining fabric
Align short seam edges of Main Front and Back RS facing. Overlap the corners evenly. Pin
Align short seam edges of Lining Front and Back RS facing. Overlap the corners evenly. Pin.
At your machine, sew short seam of both Main and Lining.
Press both seams to the back.
Aligning corners, face Main and Lining fabric RS together. Trim off any excess at the points. DO NOT OVERLY STRETCH THE FABRIC. Pin the corners.
At the machine, sew ¼” along both sides of each corner. Be precise at the bottom point to create a sharp corner.
Carefully trim ⅛” from the seam. Clip corners.
Turn the piece RS out. At the iron, press.
Fold along the long edge, so that Main fabric is tucked inside and Lining fabric is on the outside. THERE SHOULD BE 4 LAYERS OF FABRIC. Pin along the long edge. Take care to align all edges.
At your machine, sew ⅝” along the long seam. Lock in the beginning and end of your seam.
Trim seam allowance down to ⅛-¼”.
Using a loop turner, turn tie RS out.
At the iron, carefully press so that the seam is IN THE MIDDLE of the back of the tie. Take time to align the bottom point of the tie in the center.
