Learn to Sew Sewing 101: Getting to Know your Machine Sewing Class – Arvada

This class is all about your sewing machine! In this class, you will get familiarized with the different parts of your machine, such as the needle, presser foot, thread tension, bobbin winder, and more. We will go over how to thread your machine, how to wind bobbins, how to adjust your tension to the ideal settings, and how to troubleshoot common issues. We will also go over basic care/maintenance of your machine, and get you up-and-running and ready to sew!
Please bring your sewing machine’s user manual if you have it!
Sewing 101-Intro to Sewing Series
Do you want to learn how to alter your own clothes or have some sewing projects you’ve been meaning to start but find the basics a bit daunting? Come join us for this multi-part “Sewing 101” intro to sewing class. Learn the basics like how to get your machine up-and-running, different hems, how to sew buttons and buttonholes, and much more! Come learn the basics of sewing, clothing alteration, learn some new skills, and get some tips and tricks from our sewing instructors!
Everything you need for this class is included. We will provide different items like zippers, buttons, patches, as well as a variety of different fabric swatches to be able to practice what you learn. Different tools and sewing notions will also be available to try out and use during class time.
Feel free to pick and choose which class(es) you are interested in, or come to all of them! Each class is separate, so don’t worry about falling behind if you don’t come to them all.
