This class is all about buttons and zippers! We will learn how to sew buttons and buttonholes using your sewing machine, different types of buttonholes and how to customize them, how to install a zipper, and when to use different types of zippers.
Do you have a shirt or a pair of pants that’s been missing a button for way too long? Do you have a dress or a jacket with a broken zipper? Come join us and get those articles of clothing wearable again!
Please bring your sewing machine’s user manual if you have it!
Sewing 101-Intro to Sewing Series
Do you want to learn how to alter your own clothes or have some sewing projects you’ve been meaning to start but find the basics a bit daunting? Come join us for this multi-part “Sewing 101” intro to sewing class. Learn the basics like how to get your machine up-and-running, different hems, how to sew buttons and buttonholes, and much more! Come learn the basics of sewing, clothing alteration, learn some new skills, and get some tips and tricks from our sewing instructors!
Everything you need for this class is included. We will provide different items like zippers, buttons, patches, as well as a variety of different fabric swatches to be able to practice what you learn. Different tools and sewing notions will also be available to try out and use during class time.
Feel free to pick and choose which class(es) you are interested in, or come to all of them! Each class is separate, so don’t worry about falling behind if you don’t come to them all.
