I remember watching my mom sew my Halloween costumes, curtains and other household items at a very young age. It was fascinating to watch a creation come to shape! I learned the basics of sewing when I was young but did not really enjoy sewing until about 10 years ago. I worked at a sewing store while in college, which led me to the path of creativity and where I am now. I have sewn numerous projects since then and enjoy trying new techniques and tools. I have made several quilts, mended clothing, and have sewn my own costumes. I love creating bags (tote bags, zipper bags, etc), machine embroidery, and thinking outside the box to create something new. However, my passion is creating a reusable item out of non-recyclable materials. I have taught many different classes while in the sewing industry, from basics to advanced and specialized.
I currently teach owner’s lessons on all brands of sewing machines. embroidery and quilting basics. You will also find me teaching zippered bag classes, recycled goods or upcycled materials classes, and more!
I have several machines at home that I absolutely love, and have quite the collection of sewing machines that seems to be constantly growing. I also get to enjoy the perks of using the fabulous sewing machines in our showroom. My current favorite sewing machine to use in our store is the Designer Epic 2. This Husqvarna Viking has plenty of space for my projects, embroidery, a built-in needle threader, ease of use and integrated dual feed system to sew through any material I want to repurpose!
