Sure, straight and zigzag stitches are great for most things, but do you ever wonder what else is out there? Does your machine have a whole bunch of stitches that you can\u2019t even begin to guess what they are for?<\/p>\n
In this class, we will create stitch outs with all the crazy and elaborate stitches on your machine, talk about what they are used for, and which materials\/presser feet work best with them. We will go over stretch stitches, satin stitches, decorative stitches, joining stitches, overlock stitches, and more!<\/p>\n
We will also go over different types of hems. We will learn about french hems, rolled hems, blind hems, flat felled hems, and more. We will learn the technique for each one and try them out. We will also talk about when to use each of these, what kinds of projects work best for each, and what materials work best.<\/p>\n

Sewing 101-Intro to Sewing Series Do you want to learn how to alter your own clothes or have some sewing projects you’ve been meaning to start but find the basics a bit daunting? Come join us for this multi-part \u201cSewing 101\u201d intro to sewing class. Learn the basics like how to get your machine up-and-running, different hems, how to sew buttons and buttonholes, and much more! Come learn the basics of sewing, clothing alteration, learn some new skills, and get some tips and tricks from our sewing instructors!<\/p>\n Everything you need for this class is included. We will provide different items like zippers, buttons, patches, as well as a variety of different fabric swatches to be able to practice what you learn. Different tools and sewing notions will also be available to try out and use during class time.<\/p>\n See something you love during the class? All fabric and sewing notions will be available for 10% 0ff the day of each class for those in attendance.<\/p>\n Feel free to pick and choose which class(es) you are interested in, or come to all of them!
