SUMMARY:Sew Quick and Easy: A Stash Busting Get Together
DESCRIPTION:Join us for this monthly get together to create and socialize.   This will be on the first Wednesday of the month. \nEach month\, we will make a different quick and easy project.  When finished\, we will take some time for show and tell from all. We will also highlight a sewing related tool\, book\, website\, pod cast\, pattern\, designer or more.  Before each class\, we will let you know what the project will be and what you can bring of your own stash if you want.  We will have materials available to use if you don’t have a stash. \nSome of the projects we will be making in the coming months will be bowl cozies\, drawstring bags\, fabric “pots” (great for storage)\, tote bags\, zipper bags (they really are not as hard as they look)\, and more.  If there is a project you feel would be good for us to make\, let us know and we might just schedule it in the coming months! \nThis is a BEGINNER level sewing class\, so do not worry if you are just starting.  If you are a seasoned sewist\, you’ll have fun and maybe learn a few new tricks. \nItems needed: \n\nSewing Machine that is in working order (don’t forget your power cord!). DESCRIPTION:Learn how to make an easy patchwork zipper bag using the Ten Sisters Grid panel.  In this class you will make this adorable zipper bag and go home with some new patchwork and sewing skills\, plus an adorable zipper bag!  The class includes the pattern and a kit of all the materials you will need.  There will be an assortment of fabrics and colors to choose from but IF you would like to bring your own fabrics\, you will need to bring the following:\n1 Mini Charm Pack (42 – 2 ½” squares)\, 1 fat quarter for lining and tabs\, 11” or 14” nylon zipper – all other items needed (pattern\, batting\, grid\, D-ring) will be in the kit provided in the class. \nThis is a BEGINNER level sewing class\, so do not worry if you are just starting.  If you are a seasoned sewist\, you’ll have fun and maybe learn a few new tricks. \nItems needed: \n\nSewing Machine that is in working order (don’t forget your power cord!). DESCRIPTION:This class is like Drivers Ed for your sewing machine!  Would you plan a road trip without knowing how to drive and read a map?  Machine sewing is the same thing.  You have to know how to use your machine first before making anything! \nWe will start by going over all the tools that are necessary for successful machine sewing (other than a machine) and some that are just helpful to have.  Then we will get you familiarized with the different parts and accessories of your machine and how they work.   We will also go over basic care/maintenance of your machine\, and get you up-and-running and ready to sew!   At the end of the class we will make a simple project using your new skills. \nEven if you have sewn in the past and just want to brush up on your skills\, this is a great class for you to learn some new things! \nAfter this class\, please look into our class – Machine Sewing Techniques – to build on your sewing skills and take your sewing to the next level! \nItems needed: \n\nSewing Machine that is in working order (because this class is to learn how to use YOUR machine\, we will not have machines to borrow)\nPower cord\, bobbins and ALL the accessories and attachments that you have for your machine\nManual for your sewing machine\nYOUR sewing box of tools\, like scissors\, pins\, thread – bring it so we can discuss their uses – and if you have something in your sewing box that you do not know it’s use….BRING IT….we will show you!\nYou will be given a handout to make notes on\, so you will need something to write with\, but you might want a notepad or extra paper\n\nInstructor:  Patten Laurel

SUMMARY:Learn to Sew - Easy Piecing Table Runner Sewing / Quilting Class
DESCRIPTION:Do you want to make a cute quilt design that requires NO pins\, PERFECTLY nested corners and is LOTS of fun?  This technique uses a grid that you place your fabric on – then press\, fold and sew!  You don’t even have to be able to cut squares perfectly!   In this class you will make a cute table runner.  The top will all be done in class. \nWe will discuss finishing techniques (backing\, batting\,  binding) but may not finish this part in class.  All fabric and notions requirements will be sent prior to class.  The pattern and grid you will use\, will be included for free with the class. \nDon’t have a machine? Don’t worry! We have a few machines that we can reserve for those who need them during class. When selecting your ticket\, please choose “I Need To Borrow A Machine.”
