DESCRIPTION:This class is like Drivers Ed for your sewing machine!  Would you plan a road trip without knowing how to drive and read a map?  Machine sewing is the same thing.  You have to know how to use your machine first before making anything! \nWe will start by going over all the tools that are necessary for successful machine sewing (other than a machine) and some that are just helpful to have.  Then we will get you familiarized with the different parts and accessories of your machine and how they work.   We will also go over basic care/maintenance of your machine\, and get you up-and-running and ready to sew!   At the end of the class we will make a simple project using your new skills. \nEven if you have sewn in the past and just want to brush up on your skills\, this is a great class for you to learn some new things! \nAfter this class\, please look into our class – Machine Sewing Techniques – to build on your sewing skills and take your sewing to the next level! \nItems needed: \n\nSewing Machine that is in working order (because this class is to learn how to use YOUR machine\, we will not have machines to borrow)\nPower cord\, bobbins and ALL the accessories and attachments that you have for your machine\nManual for your sewing machine\nYOUR sewing box of tools\, like scissors\, pins\, thread – bring it so we can discuss their uses – and if you have something in your sewing box that you do not know it’s use….BRING IT….we will show you!\nYou will be given a handout to make notes on\, so you will need something to write with\, but you might want a notepad or extra paper
